Congratulations to John M. Hockin, Jr.

The Appellate Division affirms the dismissal of the Complaint for failure to serve an Affidavit of Merit. The case involved a psychiatrist who conducted an examination of a patient at the behest of the Court in a Child Custody Evaluation. The Appellate Division ruled that regardless of the relationship between the parties, an Affidavit of Merit was still required as the psychiatrist was still acting as a psychiatrist regardless of whether there was a doctor/patient relationship.
